Friday & Saturday were not contest days due to high humidity and inversions and temperatures in the low to mid 90s. I was the sniffer on Saturday and there was an inversion that topped out at 2500 ft AGL. I went up four times and was never able to gain more than 50 ft. (I'm sure my reputation suffered, but there really wasn't any lift... really!)

Sunday (Day 4) turned out to be a good day with a 3 hour task and speeds approaching 60 mph. Joe Owensby (3B) won the day in the HP-18 that he built himself. This moved him up to 3rd place overall with 3692 points. There were no landouts on Sunday. Malcolm Stevenson and his crewmate were still in the lead in their ASK-21 with 3862 points and Australian Tom Gilbert was in second place in his (borrowed I believe) Libelle 201B with 3802 points. Steve Bowen dropped out of the contest because of some minor damage to his ASW-22's wing.
